people who have died is held every year at London’s famed
St. Martin-in-the-Fields during Remembrance Week.

This year the service will be on Thursday 12 November, 2009,
at 11.30am and everyone is welcome. The theme of this the
November service is: "I am the vine, you are the branches."
+
An important part of the service every year consists in the read-
ing out of the names of people who have died, those known to all
the different agencies working with homeless and vulnerable people
such as hostels, day centres, outreach and church based services.

We will include in this year's service a short reflection at the
end of each block of names. Also, "The Streetwise Opera" and
"The Choir With No Name" are set again to take part as well
as known professionals and volunteers from lots of British
homelessness agencies and local charities. Light refreshment
or munchies will also be offered to all at the close of service.

:: UPDATE ::
Alastair Murray has inform me that the names of the homeless
dead will be confined to those from London only. Sadly, he says
that the list of such names would become so large if they are
taken from all around the country. I might suggest that our
homeless friends contact their local churches and ask their
minister, priest or pastor, if they could arrange a commemoration
service in the communities at where they live outside of London.
Those homeless folkz who have passed away should be memorial-
ised no matter where they once lived. A local service would be
so proper for them, I do believe. Truly, Uncle Monty. 10.10.09.

Hi Monty. Sorry that this wasn't clear. I should have said it in
the notice, I suppose. I've been suggesting that, if there isn't one
already, people could organise a service where they are. I'm happy
to share notes on the service - format, other elements, if anyone
would find that a help. There are certainly other services around
the country, like the one at the Leper Chapel outside Cambridge.
I won't be in contact again before early next week
- switching the blackberry off! Bw A.

Dearest Monty and Alastair ~ I hope to see you again at the service in November. You have given plenty of details on the blog to encourage our homeless friends to attend. I liked the presentation of "I am the vine ...," which we all should recognise as Christians. See
you at the service. I have been
3 times before. It is a worthy experience to say the least. The story on the vendors' dogs was also quite striking to me. All
the best then from me to you.

Let us twitter, Monty. The
service for those who have died
while homeless I will attend for

Patrick's tonight I will also attend. I will see you later on today. LOL from Shelia ------
