The 50+ Show At London Olympia, 2011.
...
Old folkz by the thousands flocked yesterday, and
the day before, to the 50+ Show, formerly called
The Retirement Show, at the London Olympia
Grand Hall.
...
The primary business aim of such a 50+ Show is to
get the old folkz to freely part with their personal
money and savings on such legal schemes as wealth
trusts, retirement homes at home and/or abroad, fancy
holiday packages, granny net computer programs,
donations to charities, medical aids, expensive reclin-
ers, buying investment pink diamonds, doing inter-
national sea cruises, and bringing their heirlooms
or antique rarities for expert appraisal, etc.
...
If the truth be spoken, many of the old folkz don't
have the vauguest notion of what they're getting them-
selves into since the only thing they can rely on is what
they're told by self-serving and sharp operators who
know every clever trick in the book to get cold money
from out of them.  Most operators are honest, never-
theless. But elsewhere some are too sharp for words
and the elderly are oftentimes the prime targets and
luckless victims of such criminal operators like those
cowboy roof repairers and cunning money sharks.

Fashion Presentations and Catwalks filled the Performance
Stage for much of the two-day old folkz' event along with
musical intervals performed by black crooner Colin Ray do-
ing his smooth Swing and mod Motown struts and melodies
from the 1950's and '60's.  The old folkz just adored him!

Aside from my free £10.00 entrance ticket and my
 free £2.00, glossy 66-page, 50+ Show magazine,
there were few freebies or samples to be had from
the 120 or so show exhibitors for the old folkz to
sample or to take home save for cheap sweets and
even cheaper biros and countless boring travel and
property leaflets. Otherwise, the folkz could buy
expensive recliners and hospital-styled beds at
rip-off prices that most poor pensioners could
only dream of.  Most of the recliners I saw for
sale cost over $US1,000. Rip-Off Britain just
keeps getting more of a rip-off by every
business day ... Some 50+ Show exhibitors
 also showed that!

Nor, might I add, did I see any funeral businesses
or hospices exhibit at the 50+ Show. The only old
age charity I saw for the elderly was AgeUK.
While free eye examinations and beauty treatments
were quite plentiful for all the old folkz, especially
for those older ladies who always want to mask
their real age even when they really don't need
to do so.  Vanity always kills the real self! ...

So Come Dance With Me ...
...
Among those holding seminars from amateur gardening
to important retirement issues were Sir Roddy Llewellyn,
Dr. Sheraz M. Daya, Honey Langcaster-James, Gaynor
Davies, Sarah Pennells, John Negus, Alexei Charkham,
Jessica Shukie, Valerie Singleton, Ron Elul, Simon
Primmer, Chris Friel, Mark Soper, Rosie Sandall, Nigel
Houghton, et al.  I'm not into seminars since most are so
cut and dry. I much prefer to explore whatever else is
going on all around me at such a London show. The
show seminars, however, were well attended much
like the Cookery Theatre was. Although, nothing
was cooked up for us to happily munch on!
...
Robert McCaffrey is the show director and who holds
a Ph.D in Geochemistry from Queen's University at
Northern Ireland's capital of Belfast.  He also states that
putting on the show was very expensive costing "perhaps
a quarter of a million pounds." Or around $365,000 in
US dollars! By today's exorbitant UK business costs,
such is to be expected when mounting a major retire-
ment show like McCaffrey has apparently success-
fully done for the past four years.

...
Overall, the 50+ Show just got more and more pack-
ed with more old folkz as the day went by to the point
that it was almost impossible to walk anywhere inside
the show without either colliding or bumping, or getting
gridlocked, with other folkz, who by nature walk rather
slowly, and who seemed to be then "zooed in" at
which point I began to wonder if we were actually
at a zoo or show! God knows what would happen
if there was (God forbid!) some kind of fire!!
...
As I left London Olympia Grand Hall after 4 hours,
I kept asking myself:  "Have I been, in fact,
to a zoo or a show?"

No End In Sight of More Unwanted  Foreign
Muslims Galore Swarming Inside UK. The

The biggest Christian cemetery owner inside the UK
is Muslim! At the 50+ Show there was no need
thankfully for a Muslim prayer room, which frankly
was fine with me as a traditional Anglican. And, I
suspect such was also doubtlessly agreed by many of
those old folkz at the show.  Next we won't be able
to go to Church or to the good Synagogue without
some God-damn Muslim standing in our way at
the doorMuslims and Islam are truly
an evil and everlasting curse.
