Good Old Duffer. By Uncle Monty.

Good Old Duffer.
Story By Uncle Monty.
<>
Forty to fifty local folks watched as two streetwise
young black criminals bashed and smashed the
jewelley shop windows with their sledgehammers
for all to witness in clear daylight. They wanted
the fancy watches and showy gold chains in the
windows no doubt for them to show off their latest
“wares” to their other streetwise thugz elsewhere.
<>
None of those folks standing there watching
the crude robbery unfold, dared to confront
such criminal immigrant youthz for fear that
they themselves would perhaps be hit on the
head with the same sledgehammers in the
violent hands of such Richmond brazen
day robbers.
<>
Then to the amazement of all present, 84
year-old William Grove calmly walked over
to one of the punkz and exposed him for who
he was by pulling down his balaclava from his
face. He didn’t whince, did the good old duffer.
He went right ahead and showed the scared
folkz that action was needed to be taken, right
then and there, to stop such open criminal
anarchy by such lawless and dangerous
youthz.
<>
After he did his good deed, the good old
duffer boarded his bus home and was
pleased he’d done his civic duty to stop such
criminals like those two would-be jewellery
store robbers. He didn’t see himself as an
hero - though most true heroes don't, of
course - as those embassassed onlookers
rightly called him so. The store wanted to
reward the good old duffer, but he prompt-
ly said he'd donate whatever reward they
gave him to charity. Hopefully, to a charity
that supports other good old duffer like him.
<>
William Grove represents the best that is
Britain against all that is wrong with the
country today or of “Broken New Britain.”
With no police badge, with no weapon in his
hands, with no stab-proof vest, with no
vehicle for his use, and with no helping
hand from the crowd, William Grove faced
the sure grave reactions from the two
vile sledgehammer-wielding yobz and the
possibility of being viciously attacked or
set upon by such crude street thugz. But
he still went ahead and didn’t even think
of such odds against him while all those
40 to 50 folkz stood by watching him like
cowed and passive weaklings that they
showed themselves to clearly be …
<>
Octogenarian William Grove was old
enough to the grandfather or father of
most of those onlookers watching the
foul street robbery unfold. Not one of
his fellow countrymen came to his side
to help. Not a one, no not a one. What
the good old duffer did was never ex-
pected in the form of an 84 year-old
bloke either by the violent street kidz
or from the spineless crowd. He did
the unexpected, didn't he? He sure
did, did William Grove. And, he won.
Good for him and us ...
<>
It should make us proud to be
truly British again when we see somelike
like him being a True Brit with True Grit,
instead of being automatically frightened
and cowed by such vile young elements
of violence and killings. The only thing
to fear is fear itself.
<>
One wonders, too, how they could have used
their open sledgehammers on the open High
Street at least 20 times and with no cops still
in sight or even grappling with such violent
culprits? And now, more than a week or so
after the good old duffer Mr. William Grove
had done his very good public deed those
same suspects are still free to commit fur-
ther mayhem at their own whim or will.
It can almost be taken for granted, that
those same two youthz have committed
similiar crimes of one kind of another in
the past and since they came to the UK
to gain a so-called "better life" from
their Third World hobbledehoy. That's
the thankz we get for flooding the
country with such crude and vile
shantytown-types in England today.
<>
So far as we know, the local Richmond
police has still not apprehended those
street criminals despite all the publicity
surrounding the good old duffer. Even,
American and Russian TV reported the
good news of the right of the free citizen
to tackle such brazen crime in Britain.
<>
What the sledgehammer criminals confirm
is that with New Labour's floodgate of Third
World immigrants to now overpopulated New
Britain, it is now faced with dastardly crimes
levels from all too many of them that first came
here to create a better life for themselves,
but instead it appears many of them have
now, within less than a decade, created
murderous street gangs and spiralling
rates of black-on-black and black-on-white
crime in many of the terrorised neighbour-
hoods - or 'hoods - since their immigration
arrival from all parts of the Third World.
<>
Many think we owe them no matter what.
And, they’ll take from us by fair or foul when
shove comes to push. They’ve pushed
their crime and their bad attitude and their
negative cultural lifestyle on us and shoved it
down our British throats with contempt and
ignorant glee. Such is getting worse and
the menace is clearly shown in the pictures
of those sledgehammer yobz being con-
fronted by the brave and good old duffer
in the form of Mr. William Grove, a gentle-
man from the old times that was once
lovely England and has now be destroyed
by the ilk of such violent immigrant
street yobz that continue to grow in
ever greater numbers day by day.
<>
William Grove’s actions stems
from the fact
that he was obviously brought up the right
way and is of the old school of thought
that knowing right from wrong is
paramount to living an honest and
decent life. Sadly, many of today’s crowd
figure life is whatever you can get away with
and to hell with everybody else. Steal, rob,
grab, snatch, take, rip-off, trick, or mug, is
okay as long as you can get away with it.
It’s good old duffers like William Grove,
however, who would never think of buy-
ing into such an abysmal mindset and
rotten parental upbringing.
<>
The last question here: "Where did they
get their sledgehammers from?" Yeeep,
you bet, they were probably stolen or
ripped-off, too … Bravo, no matter
what, to Mr. William Grove, a good
old duffer making us proud for at
least one moment of our sad and
declining way of British life.
<>
Good wishes to you all, Uncle Monty.

I hope soon to post my upcoming schedule,
but I've been so hectic thesedays I'm not
sure if I can put together all my changing
venues and events has they happen so
quickly. If I can post such, I will. If not,
you'll see me below at The De Menezes
Inquest, which I covered last month and
the results of the inquest is set to be made
public, I believe, before the end of this
year 2oo8. At yesterday's testimony,
the police were described as "terrorists"
themselves by tube passengers who
either saw or heard the results of the
hideous police killing of innocent Jean
Charles De Menezes by the out-of-

someone a gun and sooner or latter
they'll use such to either kill or maim.

PS. I also lost my 10 quid bet that John McCain
would win ... But that's life in these rather unusal
times, isn't? Now for the real fireworks in America
as England also marks Bonfire Night at now this
new day in Britain of Nov. 5th, 2oo8. I've loved
writing here about the now historic 2008
American Election and having thus stayed
up much of all night to do so. Great ...

My good wishes to both President Obama

such an extraordinary event like today.

***
Hi Monty,
I hope that you are well, and thanks for your blog
comments on the USA election. Personally I'm
delighted with the result, not only because I think
Obama is a good candidate, but also because I fear
that McCain is too old for the job. I don't want to be
ageist as we are all getting on in life, but if he were
to pass away during his 5 year term, that would
leave the most powerful nation on earth with Sara
Palin as its leader, and that is frankly unthinkable.
Look forward to seeing you in two weeks,
Best wishes, Bev Brittan.

McCain: Still Not Quite Knocked Out ... Presidential Notes By Uncle Monty.

McCain: Still Not Quite Knocked Out ...
Presidential Notes By Uncle Monty.
***
John McCain seems to have taken a firm grip
on The Deep South that traditionally isn’t very
pro-black at the best of times with his sweep of
the overwhelming majority of Southern states,
with critical Virginia, Florida and North Carolina
still to be called for either candidate McCain or the
big black presidential hopeful Barack Obama. If
McCain cannot hold Virginia or Florida in his
wins, then the presidential story for him looks
pretty grim. It'll be like the sad story from
Dame Shirley Bassey's sentimenal song:
"The Party Is Over, It's Time To Call
It A Day ..." for John McCain.
***
Many news agencies around the world now
say Obama is on the brink of what would
become a very historic and extraordinary
win for him in America. As I've said before,
if Obama should win it will rock and shake
the United States and the world like
nothing quite since America's 9/11.

Big win for Democrat Obama in Pennsylvania,
but his Republican rival John McCain has also
won 11 states thus far with Obama having al-
ready sweeped all the New England states
to give him several more Electoral College
votes at 171 in his favour over McCain's
total right now of a pitiful 81. That, of
course, could change dramaically, if Mc-
Cain by sheer chance should win Ohio
over Obama. Though the polling pro-
jections say Obama will take Ohio, too.
***
Things are now coming thick and fast
from America's Election Day, 2oo8. It is
just 10.00pm on the East Coast. Other
important states like Ohio and Florida
are still set to express their voting will.
But checkout Reuter's below for the latest

as good, mind you, as being there in
person at such a time like this in which
for the first time in America's history a
black man cometh to be possibly its
first African American president ...
But it's still too early to call the final
results of the election that could still
be a major cliff hanger, if there ever
was one to be.

U.S. ELECTION ANALYSIS: The Battleground States. Independent Notes By Uncle Monty.

U.S. ELECTION ANALYSIS:
The Battleground States.
Independent Notes By Uncle Monty.
***
Click below on the Arab news network online news
site - Al Jazeera - for its simply and pointed analysis
of the very important battleground states up for
grabs between John Sidney McCain III
and Barack Hussien Obama:
***
It's still late Sunday night on the East Coast of the US,
while it's now early Monday morning in England and the
rest of Western Europe, which awaits Tuesday's U.S.
Election results with all the hope that Barack Hussien
Obama will be the next 44th American president over
his Republican rival John Sidney McCain III.
***
Hold on dudes. It ain't over, 'til its over. That's for sure.
The 2008 presidential election is going, I think, to be
a real dowser at those battleground states that look
right now to be for McCain to take and grab from
Obama.
***
If however, John McCain should lose his own state
of Arizona, then he'd for all practical purposes be
finished. While the unthinkable that Obama should
lose his own state of Illinios would be a death blow
beyond anything of whatever aspirations he may
have of ever becoming America's first black president,
either now or in the future. I mention such, because
the unique thing about American politics is that the
most unexpected and most unlikely things can, and
do, happen without any kind of warning or even
rational reason or explanation until such happens.
This presidential election will most certainly bring
the unexcepted at somewhere and at somehow in
America come Nov. 4th. What such will bring, I
don't know other than I am more confident that
John Sidney McCain III will win The Oval Office.
***
So check out the U.S. battleground states and keep
your eye on those should you, like me, be closely
following the whole presidential election with
suspense and anticipation of its final outcome.
***
The American television networks - ABC, CBS,
NBC, and PBS - on the East Coast will undoubt-
edly want to project the winner before everybody
on the West Coast, due to later time zones, has
cast their votes at their local polling booths. I
think now, such networks are constained
from making such announced projections of the
presidential winner until all the polling stations
are closed out in California or on the West Coast.
California, of course, has the richest and most
Electoral College with 55 votes and thus is a
political prize all by itself to any national cand-
idate for president. And, Texas isn't far off
with its 43 Electoral votes, too, I think.

New York (ENI). On the eve of the U.S. presidential
election, Democrat Party candidate Barack Obama
appears to have made little inroads with white voters
who regularly attend church, according to one survey.
A Gallup Poll showed that Obama - a member of the
United Church of Christ who has actively courted white
evangelical voters - is backed by just under a third of
such voters: 28 percent, which is 1 point less than
what Democratic presidential candidate John
Kerry garnered in 2004.

GUESS WHO'LL WIN THE WHITE HOUSE? U.S. Election Notes By Uncle Monty.

GUESS WHO'LL WIN THE WHITE HOUSE?
U.S. Election Notes By Uncle Monty.

***
John Sidney McCain III will become the
next President of the United States.
***
Barack Hussein Obama would then perhaps
become an ideal candidate as Mr. McCain’s new
U.S. Secretary of State to replace George Bush’s
Dr. Condoleezza Rice. Barack Obama would also
be an ideal candidate as perhaps America’s next
ambassordor to the United Nations. Or even as
the U.S. Envoy to the Vatican or The Holy See.
Obama did after all sit on the right hand side of
Edward, Cardinal Egan of New York, at New
York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel dinner with John
McCain, who sat humbly on the left of the dis-
tinquished American cardinal. That somehow
qualifies Barack, doesn't it, for such a cushy
number and an illustrious post at the Vatican?
Well, we’ll see.
***
Beyond that, the end of America's Obamamania
will come decisively to a close on Nov. 4th, 2oo8,
which everybody pretty well knowns is now
just 48 hours or so away.
***
***
No matter how hard I try, I still cannot imagine
America voting for an African American to become
U.S. president. If it does, then the world will see
for the first time the most powerful black man on
the planet. “The Age of the Black” will then have
come like never before seen in the First World.
“The Age of the Non-Black” then comes to an
end and will foreseeably be forced to play little
more than "second fiddle," if you will, for the
black man now "Cometh to run white things …
by The Embodiment and Rise of Obama."
***
With that said, I see John McCain more as a
kind of "Interim President" for America, if he
wins, after the gruesome and vulgar neo-con
years of George W. Bush. So, to go now from the
Bush extremes to the Obama leftist extremes is
something totally at odds with practical reality,
it seems to me. It would be almost surreal,
really, if Obama should win over McCain. But
then, Americans by their nature and odd psyche
seem all too often to act out by the extreme of
things. Thus, to go from the tyranny of Bush
and Cheney to the tyranny of Obama and
Biden should be truly scary for everybody
and for the world itself.
***
So, I again see John McCain as a kind of "Interim
President" more than anything else at the post-
Bush years until the next 2012 U.S. Presidential
Election some four years away after 2oo8 ...
I think, too, that the John Sidney McCain III
should have declared from the outset of his 2oo8
campaign that he was running for one term only.
That would have given him a particular identity,
and perhaps an edge, in the minds of the American
electorate to pick someone who'd exist himself, for
good or bad, within four years of first taking the
presidental oath of office. Plus, it would perhaps
also have assuaged some fears for some voters
of McCain’s age knowing he’d stay on only until
his mid-70’s at most. Ronald Reagan was first
elected U.S. president at age 69, just two or
three years younger than McCain is today.
+
Ironically, I don’t particularly dislike Obama
at all nor do I particularly like McCain, but I
think the danger is allowing their personalities
to play a pivotal role in deciding who should be
the next president. I think also to simply base
one's vote for either of them, for or against, on
the widespread detestation of George Bush
is fatal. On the personality scale, Obama
wins. On the practical scale, McCain wins. At
least that’s what I think based on my sheer
gut feelings beyond other important factors
and positions of what the two candidates
each politically-represent.
***
Personally, I am also utterly
sick and tired of all radical liberalism
and those who espouse such drivel. What
the world needs now is no more bleeding
heart liberals and their leftist agendas.
They've destroyed alot that was and then good
in the name of making all things new and so-
called better. What they've brought is more
of a broken world than anything else, it seems
to me. A perfrect example is today's "Broken
New Britian" that can never be put back to-
gether again or restored to its former beauty
and character. "New Obama" sounds all too
much like "New Labour" to me. He's also been
dubbed as America's Tony Blair. That's the last
thing the Good Old US of A needs is a black or
white clone of the ilk of Britain's Anthony Blair.
***
That aside, the race now is going to be very
tight in the closing days and hours of the pres-
idential election. So the question still remains:
Guess Who’ll Win The White House?
Your guess is as good as mine, of course.
Obama just a few weeks ago was clobbering
McCain in the polls by as much as 12 points
or more. But now it appears Obama isn’t so
politically invincible after all with him losing
more than 5 or 7 points within just a few
days at McCain’s alleged underdog status.
***
Now for the real scary stuff ...
It is never good news to read of those who
would kill a political candidate because of their
intention and desire to hold elected office, either
before, during or after they have held office.
Thus the hideous American story of two Southern
white guyz from Tennessee allegedly plotting to
kill Senator Obama and other African Americans
is to be roundly condemned without any hestiation
or any reservation whatsoever - period.
***
Vote a candidate in or out of office by using the
ballot and NOT the bullet, no matter what ...
***
What I think such a vile skinhead story may do
is to frighten some folkz into not voting for Barack
Obama for fear he may become a potential target
for political and/or racial assassination in America,
if he is indeed finally elected by the ballot as the
nation's first black president. Then there may be
other voters who want to simply defy such ogre
prospect by voting for him anyway and kicking
ass against such skinhead beliefs and mentality.
***
If the political will of the American
people wants him as their president, then
that will of their's must be respected and up-
held by the strongest laws of the land. Anyone
who attempts to thwart that will through violence
and/or killing must not be let to stand or free
to do such things. Again, the ballot box and
the political process, no matter how flawed or
imperfect such may be to some, must be the
lawful key and avenue to elected office.
Unlawful means beings unlawful results.
***
Very truly. Uncle Monty.
+All Souls Day, 2oo8.

According to another Reuter news story posted today,
“Qaeda wants Republicans, Bush "humiliated." The story goes onto state: “Militant postings on al Qaeda-linked websites typically discuss Obama in terms of his race, or his religion and foreign policy. Some forecast a racial crisis dividing the United States if he wins. Others say his planned phased withdrawal from Iraq would be a boon to al Qaeda's affiliate and give it a base for Middle East expansion.” While, “Republican presidential nominee John McCain has been portrayed as likely to allow "the continuation of Republican control and aggressive policies toward the Islamic world." (Additional reporting by Randall Mikkelsen in Washington; editing by Chris Wilson) dubai.newsroom@reuters.com

**** I will instantly add to this story of mine - "GUESS WHO'LL WIN THE WHITE HOUSE?," if something major occurs between now and Election Day in the states. ****

*** In The Meantime A Little Note - I've not just used my mouth or my pen here. I've also put my money where my mouth is. Yeeeep, my ten quid on McCain winning at 7 to 1. It's my first presidential bet, too. And, also my first ever visit to a British betting shop to place a cash bet at William Hill's. ***

** The Above Lead Caption Graphic - Such is based on news photos of the two white teenage skinheads, who are alleged to have plotted to attack Tennessee blacks and then to ultimately kill Obama himself. News sources indicate, however, that their "plot" was more histrionics, than any real ability on their part to carry out such a vile plot. That, of course, should give us no comfort at all frankly. **

* Al Jazeera, the Arabic news agency - Reports "the latest twist in the 2oo8 campaign saga by citing an AP report on Saturday that Obama's aunt has been living in the US illegally for the past four years after her request for asylum from Kenya was rejected." The AP quoted a statement from Obama's campaign as saying that Obama had "no knowledge" of Zeituni Onyango's status but that he "obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws should be followed." You bet. *

Never Figured, Did He. By Uncle Monty.

Never Figured, Did He.
Story By Uncle Monty.
Photos By Alex Albion.
+
He plonked down his big flabby bottom on
the old iron and wooden bench at the Church’s
18th century cemetery garden. He began to
munch on his big bag of MacDonald’s take-
away junk food. Soon he was taking big gulps
of beer from his open beer can. He was about
age 30 and perhaps also on government un-
employment benefits. But now, he was as
happy as a little meadow lark. It was
Thursday afternoon at St. Paul’s Deptford
Parish at the Anglican Diocese of Southwark
with those short autumn days
now upon us all.
+
But he was soon in for a rude awakening at the
unexpected arrival at the cemetery garden of
the parish’s Rev’d Father Paul Bulter (shown
above in my caption image of him) dressed in
his very traditional and rather quaint all-black
clerical vestments. The beer boozer never figured,
did he, on being politely but firmly escorted off
the parish grounds by the said Rev’d Father?
A rather imposing figure in his clerical robe and
by his Anglican-Catholic presence, The Church
of England priest was no pushover in dealing
with such common beer louts.
+
Public drinking is strictly a "no no" at the
cemetery garden and the Rev’d Father has a
no nonsense approach to the problem of such
beer boozers who think they can drink and
spew out their guts at anywhere they want.
The parish has rightly imposed a ban on
all alcohol and beer drinking after it got so
bad at the cemetery garden it became instead
almost like a “Beer Garden” for many of the local
riff-raff and obnoxious characters that began to
take over the place at the expense and safety of
of its regular parishioners and church visitors.
+
David John Diamond, Priest, Canon,
Rector of Deptford,
1969-1992.
+
While certainly admiring the Rev’d Father’s
approach, the danger for such clergy is the
ever-potential for violence against them. British
clergymen are now quite frequently attacked and
robbed both inside and outside of their respect-
ive parishes all across the face of "Broken New
Britain." Being dressed as a cleric is no longer
any guarantee of personal safety. In fact,
quite the opposite is true thesedays in which
violent perpetrators assume such identifiable
clergy as easy prey in their perception that
they’ll not fight back or call the police or are
seen as just physical weaklings anyway. With
that prevalent view, the clergy then are seen
as passive targets by such criminal
and violent elements.
+
Also, the major modern problem of theft
from, and vandalism of, churches won't go
away. Along with the sacrilege of stealing
sacred artefacts and religious furnishings
that continues to grow despite the Church's
concerted steps to safeguard such treasures.
The criminal hands of such thieves will never
be cleaned, even when they're sometimes
caught red-handedly doing their
church thievery.
+
At St. Paul’s Deptford parish, the church is
now shut to the public after the conclusion of all
services of worship due entirely to such godless
and wicked people stealing whatever they can
inside the church itself during broad daylight.
The taking of church copper roof fixtures is
a common problem, too, with metal thieves
on the loose ready to strip such churches of
their valuable copper for big money at
scrapyards around the country.
+
While still at St. Paul's, the reality soon hit home
for the imbiber dude. Never figured, did he, that
he would be so quickly escorted out of the parish's
cemetery garden to do his daytime beer boozing
and greasy food munching elsewhere. Good
riddance then to him and all his ignorant type.
Bravo, I say, to the good Rev’d Father …
+
Faithfully, Uncle Monty.

and antelope boots. Islamic woman wearing their dark
yashmaks or hijabs or khimars. And, stiffly married
English retirees with their plain hats and coy coats.
Such were among the motley crowd of Arabs,
Russians, Chinese, Eastern Europeans, and good-
ness knows who else, at the two property auctions
I have attended at the English capital to find out
what it was really all about for those
bargain hunters for homes.
::
At first, I was surprised at the number of women
bidders present over their male counterparts. And, I
was even more surprised at finding some of the property
bidders looking so sinister, so seedy and so unsavoury,
that I would be almost scared of having as my landlord.
Their suspected traits of Rachmanism (Peter Rachman,
1920-1962) seemed to be their evident
characteristic to me.
::
Most of the properties up for auction were hardly
grandiose. Many were located in the worst post codes
of inner and outer London and the Home Counties.
Some looked like derelict properties to me from the
photos I saw inside the two free property catalogues
containing 240+ pages between them. Others were
homes scattered largely out of town in other parts like
depressed Northern England, at far off flung hamlets
in Scotland, and at dreary former coal mining towns
of central Wales. Properties in other parts of Western
and Central Europe were also up for bids.
::
The Property Auctioneers.
::
A good many of the 500+ lots of dwellings or business
properties or open land among the two auctions I
observed were noticeably by Order of the Mortgagees.
While others came by order of various councils or housing
charities like The Peabody Trust. Some of the properties
I almost wouldn’t even want, even if they were free.
They were that bad to me. But those bargain hunters
for homes, nevertheless, soon snapped the up …
::
I wasn’t sure if such were “bargains” or not, since I
know so little about property buying or real estate.
But I’m sure bad economic times, like now, bring out
vicious sharks to the property market to rip-off
those poor devils who have lost their own
homes due to their financial hardship.
::
With thousands of mortgaged property owners in
Britain having their homes and businesses reposs-
essed at an ever rapid and alarming rate due to the
present all-embracing credit crunch and broken
financial markets, property auctions seem to be
booming for those who want or seek to buy cheap.
::
Personally, if I had a spare couple of hundred thousand
quid, I wouldn’t even think of buying any property in
the UK. Such property prices are truly outrageous
and totally mindless compared to buying the same
or better properties abroad or in North and South
America. You almost have to sell your soul to get
on the property ladder in England thesedays.
And, you’ll never get any spare change from such
investment unless you’re one of those in the pro-
perty Big League or simply very lucky. In fact,
the individual, non-professional, property owner
seems to be losing, and not gaining, profit on their
investment or long standing purchase of their own
home in Britain of today. Rather, many are now
in negative equity if they’re still making inflated
payments on their fixed mortgaged property.
Each day seems to get grimmer for them.
::
But those bargain hunters for homes may well
be at their hey and hay day, while rental pro-
perty is also booming because many folkz
have opted out, either by choice or force,
not to buy a house or business at
this time.
::
Some of the bargain hunters for homes.
::
Anybody who is a novice and planning to buy at
any property auction would be best to first attend
such auctions to get some clearer understanding
of the dangers and pitfalls inherent in bidding and
buying such property, like a house or a business
or land, by such a method.
::
Read very carefully all the written instructions and
obligated requirements needed to actually participate
in those public auctions before you even consider
participating. Learn the legal obligations and pro-
perty jargon and all the financial and tax impositions
on you when buying at property auctions. Beware
that you could quickly become unstuck if you
make a property mistake that you’ll pay for dearly.
::
Caution is the key word and property knowledge
is the best safeguard against making any future
error(s) when bidding and buying. Don’t, in other
words, become penny-wise and then pound foolish.
Auctions can gobble you up in no time, if you don’t
watch it. If you’re not in personal control, then
the auction will control you … The auctioneers
love those who they can control at their pro-
perty auctions above all else … It brings them
greater profits at the expense of such foolish
and ignorant bidders and buyers.
::
One last word or so, DON'T buy any property
unless you've actually seen it to inspect it before
the auction no matter how dirt cheap it is or how
appealing it may be. Would you wed someone
you've never actually seen or looked at? Of
course, not. The same applies, in my opinion, to
buying property, a business or land or any-
thing ... Make sure you've seen it with your
own eyes, first. Another simple lesson before
the auction of your property dreams is to go
and visit as many properties that you can that
may fall within or near the scope of your de-
sired home or business or land. And, above
all make sure you have enough money spare
to be one of those future bargain hunters for
homes. If you don't have the financial resources
or means, don't waste your time at property
auctions for they'll bring you no good happi-
ness along with a sense of compounded
jealousy and even perhaps anger. Wait for
another day. The sunshine always comes.
sooner or later. So don't fret ...
::
Perhaps then some rich unknown uncle or
aunt in America will pop-up from nowhere
and leave you in their will a nice homestead
at the Texas Panhandle or at the Prairieland
of the mid-West or perhaps even some
English cousin will leave you property in
the dulldrums of Dartmoor or Exmoor ...
Nice thought, yeeeeeeeeep?
::
So, happy property auction days are here
again for those with good, old-fashioned,
cash in hand ... to bid their way all day
to their own hearts content.
::
Cheers everybody, Uncle Monty.

No Longer Toothless. By Uncle Monty.

No Longer Toothless.
Story By Uncle Monty.
Photos By Alex Albion.
- - -
New dentures make you feel young again with a
set of gleaming white teeth after being toothless
perhaps for years or months on end. To suddenly
find you’re no longer toothless with your new
dentures displayed for all to see by your newly
founded broad smile impacts psychologically on
the mind and physically on the face, I do believe.
- - -
While on the flip side of the coin, however, new
dentures intrude on whatever make believe you
had that you’re not really getting old when in
fact dentures only confirms you are indeed and
like the practical reality confirms, too, you are.
Dentures sorrowfully denies that you’re
young or even middle-age, anymore ...
- - -
The use of dentures transcend race, creed, nationality
education and/or mental state. But economic status
may deprive many from access to getting needed
dentures at old age. Dentures, I suspect, is also a
Western invention. But who knows or cares?
I don’t …
- - -
New dentures can for sure play havoc with your
big mouth by creating a speech impediment that
you never before had. When you first go to speak,
the dentures impede your ability to speak in the
manner you usually and normally do. Instead,
your words, if you can get them out of your
mouth, come out sounding like some mumbo-
jumbo or an imbecile. I stopped for some moments
from speaking to others out of fear I'd be labelled
such an imbecile with dentures. Time, I am told,
will correct that as you get "acclimatized" to your
new-fangled teeth. Just twist your tongue and
then the words soon flow ... Maybe so, but I do
feel abit like an idiot if not a known imbecile
when I "denture speak."
- - -
And, taking the first bite of food to eat with den-
tures is frought with open embarrassment when
the dentures suddenly want to tumble right out
of your stupid mouth. Mine did, you know ...
- - -
Rarely do dentures first sit so comfortably inside
one’s old pitapat mouth. Nipping gums or rubbing
nerves, dentures can drive you up the wall trying
to get them to behave properly inside what was
once your toothless mouth.
- - -
So into my gob I put my first "trial" hard mint
humbugs, only to find my dentures soon crying
out loud inside my vivacious mouth. They wanted
it out of my mouth… and my new teeth started to
rattle, too, at my endeavour to suck on my
favourite mints. My Pascall’s sweet Rhubarb and
Custard hard drops did the same thing. Oh and forget
those English sticky toffees for my upper and lower
dentures screamed as they got stuck together
like I had now a pitiful mouthful of superglue.
- - -
The best thing about dentures is you can brag
a nice broad smile once again with such nice look-
ing false teeth. But beware, not to be too smiley.
Because there’s nothing more embarrassing than
finding one’s dentures slipping out place and making
your smile look like a real imbecile trying to sudden-
ly adjust them back into place. And for heaven sake,
don’t wear them at night under any circumstances
‘cause you’re liable to get them stuck in your throat
like finding a dead frog in your home-made soup.
Such isn’t nice, know is it? Stuck dentures aren't
good for the denture nor for your
throaty throat mind for you.
- - -
Whatever, my Creekside Dental Centre’s super-
dentist Dr. Abdul Salim-Said, and his professional
dental assistant Ruby, must be “blamed” for making
me no longer toothless. For months they’ve painstak-
ingly worked on my dental needs with the determination
of making me look alot more fearsome when I grit my teeth
and hold on now like a pitbull terrier to bite those who would
dare to upset me. What Abdul and Ruby, however, never
told me was that only a silly old foggey like me would ever
dare wear dentures to appear to be no longer toothless.
When in fact I am more toothless now than at any other
time in my life. Let me now grit my dentures at least ….
My bark is still bigger then my bite with or without
those nice Abdul and Ruby dentures of mine …
in my own now no longer toothless mouth.
...
This is my pretty set of dentures.
Smile, you're on camera, Uncle Monty.
The Day of the Jackal, 2oo8.

And, here's mum Fiona and Archie, who'll
be just 3 come Bonfire Night, 2oo8. Cheers.

Slamming The Homeless. By Uncle Monty.

Slamming The Homeless.
Story By Uncle Monty.
Photos and Graphics By Alex Albion.
:::
Screaming with its bold black headline of “£1.5M HOUSES
FOR HOMELESS,” London’s Friday edition of The Evening
Standard used twenty-two boldface black fonts of almost
1.5 inches each in size to ram home its sensational story
about how some of the homeless are being housed
in such very expensive London abodes.
:::
Reported by its chief reporter Robert Mendick, the
story highlighted how greedy landlords are being paid
as much as $1.800 a week by wealthy local councils,
like Kensington and Chelsea, to house a few of
London’s homeless, or would-be homeless, folks.
:::
To read the headline would imply that many of the
present homeless are being housed so comfortably in
private million-pound worth houses when such is far
from the daily grit and reality of the overwhelming
majority of the indigenous homeless in London.
:::
Thus, Mendick’s piece was also tanamount to slamming
the defenseless homeless who have little or no say at
where and when they might be housed by their local
councils. Indeed, many have been waiting years to be
housed in the cheapest council properties that would
make some people even cringe at how depressing
they really are.
:::
A fancy property perhaps for homeless rent?
:::
But when you have real estate agents like wealthy
Foxtons involved with wealthy landlords and wealthy
councils, the combination helps not the homeless per
se, but rather it helps first such wealthy operators
renting properties at rip-off prices under the guise
of housing the homeless. A London mews cottage, as
cited in Mendick’s report, costing £58,000 per year
for a homeless woman and her children is an outrage
to all the taxpayers who have no say on such careless
use and waste of money. The homeless aren’t to blame
for such rental prices or even being housed in £1.5
million houses, but rather housing and government
officials who agree to pay such outlandish prices in
the first place and at any cost in order to satisfy some
nebulous concept of reducing or containing the grow-
ing problem of Britain’s homeless population
across the whole country.
:::
Not quite so fancy, but fit for the homeless.
:::
Slamming the homeless who are housed in such expen-
sive properties is a cheap shot at all the other homeless at
wherever and however they are since most of them will
never see the front door, let alone be housed in such rich
properties. Slamming rich landlords, rich real estate
agents, and rich councils is certainly in order. But the
problem of homelessness, be it in London or elsewhere,
cannot be resolved by them for the problem stems from
deeper social causes and wider economic disparities
beyond their control or indeed the control
of the homeless themselves.
:::
And the British housing charities, I must say, seem
at a loss to truly resolve the depth of homelessness.
In fact, it seems they’d be out of business themselves
if they permanently solved the social housing crisis.
The more the homeless, the more housing charity
money comes to such charities it seems. In the
meantime more poor and marginalized folks are
still stranded on the cold and indifferent streets of
London and at other major cities around England.
:::
Slamming the homeless will not solve anything
and least of all giving them the chance to live like
a British lord or titled lady at some Chelsea and
Kensington mews cottage costing an arm and leg
to hide them from their homeless situation on
the mean city streets of choking London.
