Palm Sunday At The English Cotswolds.

By Uncle Monty.
***
From what I could see, the estimated 230,000
racing punters had already left town the day before
at the close of the National Hunt Event at historic
Cheltenham Spa. Yet you’d think they were still all
there with the heavy patrols of motorized and foot
police in their hideous and blinding yellow neon jackets,
large riot-designed white police vans, and their black
billyclubs all at the every ready as I explored for the
first the Regency period town of Cheltenham at the
heart of the English Cotswolds on the eve
of Palm Sunday.
***
***
So as we strolled along The Promenade of the
once 18th century small English market town,
Elizabeth Middleton and I happened upon the
the delightfully worked cast iron characters, shown
above with me, which were six to seven times taller
than the many little kidz that ran upto them and
then stared in pure wonder at the strange figures
and then to “chat” with them, too. Invariably,
always be on the lookout for unusual things when
you travel, and at no matter where you go, for nice
surprises like the cast iron characters tend to add
treats to one’s open-ended travels and one’s always
curious mind and eyes. Enjoy then being surprised by
those unexpected surprises and lovely moments.

The English have historically and passionately been
into making and publicly displaying stone and brass
statues of various heads of British Royalty over
many years and especially those statues and monu-
ments to and of Queen Victoria that have been widely
scattered arcoss the country at her Imperial Reign and
after her 1901 death. So when I happened upon the
1914 stone statue of George V, I was at first abit
surprised to see him instead of Victroia in all her
usual statue form. It was also the first time that I’d
seen such a statue of him being surprisingly depicted
with a WWI orphan girl and him all grim faced and
dressed in either rolled-up trousers or three quarter
short military khakis at Cheltenham’s Off Rotunda.
Since the early 20th century the statue has stood
there undisturbed, I guess. I decided to also add
my own colour to the sky to enchance the poignant
imagery of the photograph I took of the 15ft. high
statue of George and the war orphan.
(What is odd, too, is that ER is inscribed on the
base of the George V statue instead of his GR.)

Elizabeth and I also attended the English Concertina
Orchestra’s Saturday evening performance of Vivaldi’s
Introduction and Gloria in D Major and Handel’s
“Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened” under the wings
of the Cheltenham Choral Society, which is celebrating
70 years this year of making classical music since 1938.
Bravo … The steady conductor was Ian Higginson
along with his Soprano Vicki Beauregard and Tenor
George Howarth of whom we both liked. As we also
did with Alto Jennifer Taylor and Bass John Collins.
George Ewart was the good leader of the orchestra.
***
While right here at Cheltenham is the 1874 birth home
of British composer Gustav Theodore Holst at Clarence
Road. I went to his home just before the mentioned
evening concert, but was too late to visit inside the
home-cum-Holst Museum since it was closed by the
time I could get there. He died, incidentally, in the
same year of 1934 has did the two other quint-
essential English composers Sir Edward Elgar and
Frederick Delius. For Holst, his musical fame
rests primarily on his repertory works of
The Hymn of Jesus and The Planets. So came
Jupiter, Mars, and the other planets of Holst's
musical mastery and “We Laid Upon The Altar
The Dearest And The Best …” was also the
classic form of the English Hymn of “I Vow To
Thee, My Country” and that was adapted from
Holst’s celestial composition of The Planets.
***
A couple of other things that stuck me about
Cheltenham Spa was the 1821-built Christadelphian
Hall and the undated old Masonic Lodge and the red
pillar boxes still in use with the emblem VR on them
from the 60+ year reign of Queen Victoria,
who has now been dead over a century.
***
The Christadelphians themselves formed in the
US of A at the time of just before the rise of the
American Civil War at the early 1860’s. A Londoner,
called John Thomas, organised the religious sect there
that was based on the simple apostolic faith of 1st
Century Christianity. They believe, too, that political
events of the day are seen as fulfilments of biblical
prophecies. Socially, they shun others and reject
organizational membership in civil and political
groups. To them, Heaven and Hell doesn’t exist,
states Pears Reference on
Ideas and Beliefs.
***
Standing forlorn and empty is the old Masonic
Lodge on Cheltenham’s Portland Street. With
Masonic craft symbols on the outside of what
looks like a mid-19th century structure to me,
the only sign of life were the two locked blue-
painted doors and black iron railing at the front
of the building that stands at three stories high.
Clearly, the building showed a strong and active
Masonic Order at Cheltenham of bygone years.
Masonic membership has been in sharp decline
in England and elsewhere for quite some years
now. And so in order to bring in some new, and
much needed younger blood, the secretive
Masons have recently endeavoured to recruit
students at college and university campuses across
the country. So then they still have a large and un-
used Masonic Lodge to fill-up with some new and
young recruits at least here at the old spa.
***
While outside at the town’s Starbucks, large knots
of all-white youthz had gathered at about 5:00pm
to simply shoot the breeze. They were a motley
group of male and female godless goths, myrmidon
mohawks, punky punkz, and egotistical exhibitionists
of perhaps aged 14 to their early 20’s. They crowded
the sidewalk so that nobody else could move or pass
by them very easily. At a short distance away, I also
noticed a large dark mustard coloured police van full
of Cheltenham’s finest sitting inside their van with
the engine still running to presumably pounce
on
the youthz with their black bullyclubs, if need be.
While another police van proclaimed “You Are Caught
On Camera” as its mobile CCTV unit drove by the
knotz of modern day English youthz who are a very
far cry from what I remember when I was a youth
of five decades ago. Whatever, I almost wanted to
wave at the police unit to get myself on its mobile
CCTV … simply for the heck of it …
***
Then nearby Gloucester beckoned Elizabeth and
I today to The Anglican Service of Palm Sunday
at
the imposing presence of its renowned Cathedral
that is presented here with the above caption photo-
graph that I shot while we were there to go wor
ship
and to sing His praise. Thus, the start of Holy Week is
now upon us with Eastertide just only days away …
Truly, Uncle Monty.

Ken's Black Jasper Is Now A Huge Black Question Mark.

By Uncle Monty
***
He could almost now be called a sex fiend with having
nine kidz of his own and his exposed salacious and
obscene e-mails to black women he fancies sex with
outside of his own marriage. Black Jasper has been a
close buddy of London Mayor Kenneth Livingstone,
whose mouthy personality and political garbage I
utterly loathe along with the public ilk of his clone
Anthony Blair. Due to what he claims are “racist
attacks” against him by The Evening Standard,
and other news media, Black Jasper suddenly
resigned the other day as the chief race advisor
to the mouthy mayor.
***
Good riddance to him and hopefully Black Jasper
will be jailed if found wanting. Pity he’s not deport-
able as a mixed-race citizen that would allow the
mayor to then send him weekly food parcels to starve
off future starvation of Black Jasper and his nine hungry
kidz at wherever he was then deported to. Whatever,
Black Jasper sounds to me like a real son of bitch no
matter how he is packaged by his fan the red mayor.
***
He, Black Jasper, really stands out when it comes
to jasper that usually comes only in colours of red
for Ken, yellow for fever, and brown for excretion
or BS. Take your pick and figure out which colour or
colours best describes Black Jasper’s skillful manipu-
lation of funnelling over £3.5 million of public money
to his various black pet projects and his compatriot
black buddies. I understand that little of the huge
money is now accountable since much of the book-
keeping either never existed or was so slap-happy
in whatever accounting took place it is now hard to
know where the money trail finally ended after
so many calculated twists and turns.
***
What we do know is that Black Jasper was very
happy with his political prowess and racial vicegrip
over Mayor Ken, who is running for re-election this
May 1st, 2oo8. If he is re-elected, Ken Livingstone will
become even redder and blacker and more arrogant
than he already is. The only way to save London from
him and Black Jasper is NOT to vote for him ever again.
Never, ever again … I never did vote for him and
I never will come hell or high water.
***
Ken’s Black Jasper has now brought a huge black
question mark over both of them and much of it is of
their own making I’d say. Yet, the same blithering
mayor then stated he’d happily re-hire him again to
presumably grab more free money from the mayor’s
public trough that Black Jasper could command, it
seems, at whim or just at the drop of an English penny
at City Hall on almost any day of the week. Or just by
a mere phone call or text or a Black Jasper e-mail.
E-mails for black sex and hot free public money
appear to go hand in hand very nicely for him.
He won’t get much of that in the future, if he is
finally banged-up in some jailhouse or shipped off
to a removal centre if deportable and at where he
should belong if they get the black goods on him …
***
Ah, and guess what? Black Jasper is listed as one of
100 Great Black Britons. Is that a sickie joke? Blimey,
it should be. He is also a member of the Black Jewish
Forum and is currently the Deputy Representative of
the UK on the European Council’s National Anti-Racist
Network. What’s the big deal there for
Black Jasper, I wonder?
***
He needs to be removed from any public or private
positions forthwith if he is found to be criminally
culpable at any stage of the present criminal investigation
against him. No doubt Black Jasper will soon pull the Race
Card again against the cops that are now investigating him
for any criminal offenses that they may find against him,
just like he has already done against the news media
for exposing his City Hall wheelings and dealings.
***
What they, the copz, need to do before anything else
is to also legally freeze his financial assets to ensure
such doesn’t “disappear” like all the other hundreds
of thousands of pounds that seems to have gone on
his various empty pet projects and for his happy
black spongy spongers.
***
Ah yes, Black Jasper is also the police adviser to
the Met on black race matters. Can the cops then be
free of such a conflict that he represents when trying to
impartially investigate criminal matters against him? I’m
not sure if they can or will knowing how the British police
have become so politicised under New Labour and under
Sir Ian Blair the present Metropolitan Police Commissioner.
I’ll withhold my judgement and opinion on that until I see
if Black Jasper is finally brought to justice or is
exonerated under the legal process.
***
Will Ken Livingstone be re-elected again to run London
into the ground? You bet, if he and his political cronies
can portray his mayoral opponent Boris Johnson as a
cad, as a bore, as a toff, as a bigot, and/or as a rant. It
is upto Boris himself to show us, and clearly pinpoint
to us, that KL and Black Jasper are no longer fit or
worthy for City Hall and that the future of London in
the hands of such local government shysters is a no-no.
Remember when you vote, that Ken’s Black Jasper Is
Now A Huge Black Question Mark. If you vote for Ken
Livingstone, you also vote for Black Jasper. Goodbye
and good riddance to them both. You nasty little
babes ain’t going to get my vote that’s for sure
come May or whatever may.

In today’s Britain “Political Correctness Has Become a
Tool of Repression.” It stands against all the norms of free
and differing expression in a society that always claims to be
open and democratic. That fact of the matter is that Britain
is now less free and democratic in its constant need to bully,
to criminalise and to brainwash those of us who disagree with
the strains of multiculturalism, the rise of interracial marriages,
the foreignization of the country, mass immigration of useless
Third Worlders and world immigrants, the illegal military invol-
vement of Britain in America's Iraq and Afghanistan bloody
mess, and New Labour's refusal to let the British people vote,
up or down, on our unvoted membership in the European
Union. All of the above needs to be STOPPED – period.
That’s what I say …

Black Jasper has now been arrested less than 36 hours after
my piece on him first appear here at thebiggerissue.org. Two
other suspects were also arrested and "held over alleged fraud
involving cash given to The Green Badge Taxi School," reports
the freesheet METRO. In the meanwhile, Mayor Ken Livingstone
then had the gall to declared there was a moral vacuum in
which parents were failing to teach their kidz right and wrong.
Perhaps he should send his newly arrested aide Black Jasper
on compulsory visits to local parents and school students to
instruct them on how to determine the right and wrong way
to instill public trust and integrity at City Hall ... That's
where the moral vacuum seems to also lay quite
evidently for some.
***
If Red Ken can call the American Ambassador Robert
Tuttle " a little chiselling crook" for his refusal, rightly so I
think, not to pay almost £2 million in congestion charges
and penalties against US Embassy staff, then perhaps the
mayor really needs to apply that more correctly to his ar-
rested political buddy and aide Black Jasper. Ambassador
Tuttle is no more a crook or a chisller than I am a black
pot-bellied pig. But, maybe Black Jasper is ...

European Union Homeless Dying on London Streets.

:: By Alistair Murray ::
***
Homeless people from EU (are) dying in London. The recent cold
weather has taken a heavy toll on London's homeless and destitute
people from the EU. There have been several deaths as a result of the
denial of help from statutory services. This week's Pavement carried
a short piece about a young Polish man called Krzystof Marszalek who
died of a drug overdose in a toilet cubicle at Victoria. The day before he
had visited the A&E dept. at St. Thomas' Hospital. He joins the growing
list of those who have died on the streets or in church yards denied
help from homelessness agencies because they are not entitled to
benefits. This is an intolerable state of affairs. Why cannot people
who are clearly homeless and vulnerable receive the help they so
desperately need, regardless of their nationality?
***
The main source of help for people in this situation is volunteers
in churches and church linked drop-ins, shelters and soup runs
which do not have to exclude poor, homeless and hungry people
just because they do not receive state benefits.
***
The partnership between Barka and the Broadway Day Centre
in Shepherds Bush is another practical solution, working with the
visionary support of LB Hammersmith and the Polish Senate. An
example of a positive alternative to living (and dying) on the streets
of London. I understand that the funding for their vital work is un-
likely to continue unless other London local authorities and partners
can be found. Can you lobby your local council and MP to create
more solutions like this in your area? Related info:

HOMELESS STEVE REPLIES ...
> hi alaistar..and if you are homeless,like myself with a partner,
you,ve got no chance,of getting into a shelter together,because
its for single homeless,and all they will do..outreach workers..is
to split up..to get into a hostel..we live in the 21st century.and
its about time the vouluntary sector got to grips with this..
instead of turning a blind eye,for the sake of money, we are
human beings not commoddities..regards; Homeless on the
streets of London, with a partner who has a health problem,
and not happy about it.. steve <
***
Further comments and insight from Steve:
Alastair, it would appear that a lot shelters,daycentres,
have a strong church based background,example the
Passage in Victoira,support workers are based there,as
well other workers to help you,WHY!! does this stop the
moment you say that you have a partner,sorry we can,t,
wont help,we can if you leave,or split up from your partner..
is this the way forward for anyone,does this mean the
church based orrganisation does not belive in marriage,
so if this is the case its better to live in sin..also what
happened to family christian/catholic values
regards steve..

Why 12 Year-Old Ladz Leave The Church.

By Uncle Monty
***
All too many 12 year-old British, American, and
European ladz today have been plucked from their
magical years of childhood to face the new realities of
being forced to grow-up faster than ever in the modern,
the materialistic, the selfish, the secular, and the global
world in which they and us now live. Many parents
say that childhood is now over by age 11,
reports ICM research.
***
No wonder then so many Digital Age children show no em-
pathy toward others or care not two hoots about anything
except for themselves. The loss of childhood is the loss of
boyhood for such ladz that can also bring about a false
configuration and a skewed sense of manliness and man-
hood. True too, they are oftentimes sad clones of their
own "misdimensional" and dysfunctional parents or
guardians. They are a societal product, for good or
bad, of the present society in which they are reared
and nurtured beyond their domestic situation and local
pathology. The lack of communication skills, low edu-
cational goals, anti-social behaviour, fragmented
relationships, negative attitude, and refusal to abide
by collective rules, are evident and widespread among
many of the so-called "tweenagers" of ages 10 to 13.
Such helps to explains why many 12 year-old ladz
decide to leave the church no matter what
their folkz do or say.
***
Many of today’s children - who are little more than
grotesque, miniature adults in some cases - are all alive
and well on the surface, but beneath that they are so
spiritually, so emotionally, and so psychically empty and
dead. Like many of their unchurched parents, such ladz
also soon learn to reject the church and all thingz remotely
religious. While those other parents who are somewhat or
fully churched, have a dickens of a time each Sunday to
entice their 12 year-olds or older ladz to go to church with
them. It's not koooooooooooool to be seen in church or to
be seen as "good." That's not "bad" and being bad means
being good in the slang of today's mindless youths ... Dare
I also say that I think their insatiable appetite for online
and video games and consoles are like hallucogenic drugs
to many teenages that controls and shapes their warped
view of life that is surely in direct conflict with the panoply
and life of the church. Yes, I hear derision loud and clear
to that view of mine. But that's what I think is an unsaid
and unrecognised factor in why some youngsters are
so alienated against religion and the clergy, too.
***
So when The Church Times (7 Mar. ’08. No. 7564) carried a
two and half page spread entitled “The lost boys: the Church’s
great teenage exodus,” by Rebecca Paveley, I was immed-
iately interested to read and absorb what she had written
on the subject.
***
Rebecca Paveley doing her artwork ....
So herein, I present some of the highlights
of Rebecca's piece:
1st: Ladz (and girlz) become bored with Church.
2nd: "Role models and good Christian friendship
are critical to keeping young" ladz and girlz
"involved and interested in church."
3rd: Loss of older teenagers to the church
has a knock-on effect on the younger ones.
4th: Keeping ladz thru sport can be a real
"ice-breaker," but not a cure all for keeping
them actively involved in church.
5th: Ironically, because sporting events are
played more and more on Sunday mornings
such has also impacted on ladz attending
those events instead of church.
And, 6th: Without further shifts in the style
and substance of ministry to teenagers,
the exodus of ladz of all ages from the
church will continue.
***
My own opinion of why alot of ladz don't even
attend church, let alone make an exit if they do so
as they get older from the church, is based on all
the modern thingz that attract ladz or tweenagers or
older teenagers from church attendance. It's because
England itself has become more and more a "pleasure-
oriented society" over the past two or three decades that
now sees folkz spending so much money on all thingz
that give them material and personal satisfaction and
comfort no matter how ephemeral and expensive such
pleasures may turn out to be. Thus their own world of
property buying, owning the latest model cars, buying
digital gadgets galore, seeking far flung travel adventure,
soaking up constant shopping sprees, holding easy
credit, and living beyond their means, all rub off on
those young ladz and girlz to figure how they, too, can
get hold of such pleasures. They pray, like so many
adults, for thingz, but not for their salvation or forgive-
ness of sins. The every day influences of avarice and
over-indulgence is endemic among the exploding populace
of the UK, Europe and the US of A. We are no longer
citizens per se, but rather we've become consumers only.
We live to eat and eat to live. And that's the passageway
of why so many 12 year-old ladz leave the church among
other reasons why. One can hardly blame them with
such glaring examples shoved down their throats
and paraded before their young eyes at every new
morning of their formative lives ...
***
But then there are other extraordinary 12 year-old
ladz that do service for the church and are not the
ladz (or girlz) who are leaving the church has stated in
Rebecca Paveley's "The lost boys: the Church's great
teenage exodus." You’ve seen their angelic faces at
Westminster Abbey. You’ve heard their heavenly
voices singing at Mattins and Evening Song. You’ve
watched them at procession in their bright crimson
gowns and their pure white Anglican Choir collars
and surplices. And, you’ve admired their presence
at church. These, then, are no ordinary ladz. They
are part of The English Church tradition that goes
back for centuries and is the bedrock of Christianity
and Churchianity in England. Such ladz are called
Choristers or choir boyz. Or in Latin: Chorista.
They gather and sing throughtout the land at
British Cathedrals, Collegiate Churches, and Chapels
Royal and not just at Christmastide or Passiontide or
Ascensiontide, but at all the religious "tides" of the
year. If they were the ladz leaving the church, then
The Church of England would be in greater fear of
collapse than I ever thought or imagined was possible.
Thank God for such ladz is all I can say. And,
God Bless their little cotton socks and their
divine harmonies of hymns and psalms.
***
While in the meantime, of the
24 million born-Anglicans in Great Britain, only
about a million attend Sunday morning service or are
active in the life of the parish to which they belong.
Now that's what I call sad and rather pathetic to say
the least. Surely we can do better than that as
Anglicans in our own country? Let's try boyz and
girlz, momz and dadz, brotherz and sisterz,
auntz and unclez, nephewz and cousinz, and
friendz and neighbourz, to uphold more of the
traditions of our local and national church to en-
sure its rightful place in our British way of life.
***
Some final thoughts on what's going on in The
Anglican Church of England from what I see
of it on a pretty regular basis. I suspect that
the 12 year-olds to which Rebecca Raveley cites
are mostly white or Anglo-Saxon boyz who are
leaving the church. With the influx of immigrants,
especially those African Anglicans, joining local
parishes in England there would seem to me to be
the emergence of immigrant youths replacing many
of the local church boyz and girlz at an ever rapid rate.
When I attended St. Matthew's, which was the last
church that Diana, Princess of Wales, opened before
her tragic death, I noticed the congregation was
growing more African by the week and less and less
white youngsters and their parents appearing at the
weekly congregation. Indeed, once parents perman-
ently leave the church then their youngsters follow
suit. I suspect, too, that one reason why white
boyz and girlz are leaving the church is because
they have become, or are becoming, outnumbered
by immigrant youths at their local parish. The
Africanization of many London Anglican parishes
is stark and overwhelming and does not sit well
with many local whites who have worshipped for
years at their once all-white church. While com-
mentators have remarked on the religious
Islamization of Europe, I have yet to read any
material on the Africanization of the Church of
England and what this means in future regarding
the church and what it may become down the road.
***
While black Anglican clergy on the ground
is pretty thin in England right now, what I sus-
pect will happen as the older local white clergy
resign or retire or die off, that new black clergy
will emerge to lead the local black flock. Certianly,
with our first black Archbishop of York now in place
since 2oo5 - he is Dr. John Sentamu, the Ugandan-
born cleric - if he should become the next 105th
Archbishop of Canterbury after Dr. Rowan
Williams ends his present archbishopric, then
as the first black Archbishop of Canterbury
he may well oversee an explosion, and greater
seminarian training, of black clergy in the future
Church of England. Some local London and Black
Country parishes of the West Midlands will soon
become, if they're not already, majority black
parishes in any event. What the youngsters will
do at such black parishes will remain to be seen,
but they'll probably be more loyal to their parent's
wishes to stay with them in church as opposed to
many of the white British boyz and girlz who want
to flee in order to enjoy their freedom not to
attend church for whatever their reasons. So
herein lies perhaps some of the answers why 12
year-old (white) ladz (and girlz) leave the church.
It isn't a pretty picture when you think about it.

That Beautiful Summer's Day At Royal Ascot.

:: By Uncle Monty ::
***
Rarely does she consent to being photographed.
So when I casually handed my instamatic camera to
Contessa Maria's chauffeur to take a momento of us
at Royal Ascot on 2oo6 Ladies' Day, I was quite
surprised she silently consented without first
kicking-up a big fuss about being photographed
against her wishes. She seemed so pleased to be
photographed with me in all her frilly pink
raffinement and her open glad face.
***
The above photograph was the excellent result
and to which Maria granted me permission to post
as long as her features were partially blocked out
to avoid instant recognition by those who may seek
to kidnap her for ransom or to rob her because of
who she is. So she stated to me. Hence, the black
stripe across her aristocratic eyes was imperative
to ease her mind. But with a dowry of $18 million
to her name, she may need to fret over such things
that "pofolkz" like you and me needn't ever worry
about. We are, after all, oftentimes imprisoned
by what we own and by what we want to own.
***
As she later went off to chat with some of the royals,
I then had free reign to photograph all the many
beautifully-clad, and some what snooty, ladies all
milling around the enclosure like bumptious bumble
bees at the premier royal racing event of the year.
I had a field day with my cameras to say the least.
I went first for those younger ladies wearing
their delicious and expensive hats for us all to see
and to admire on Ladies' Day. And, almost
100.000 ticket-holders were there on that
beautiful summer's day at Royal Ascot.
***
At the races, politeness and snobbery go to-
gether. But when I saw a rather course woman
with her unironed frock pulled up high above her
porkchop thighs having a go at urinating on the race
track, due presumably to her inability or ill-manners
to control the call of mother nature, I was disgusted
at such an antithesis to the royal image that is so por-
trayed of Royal Ascot. The lower the class, the cruder
the behaviour. Yet set against such a background,
I also saw and mingled with those rather Eton toffs
and "horsey folks" from the countryside that would
rather be seen prancing dead at the royal enclosure
than at an Anglican parson's burial service ...
***
So without any further ado from me,
here then are just a tiny few of the 100
or so images I took at Royal Ascot:
***
1. Classic ladies of Ladies' Day.
2. It's the hat, my dear, not you.
3. All tuckered out was she on the green grass.
4. Look at the expressions on their faces ...

As for Contessa Maria, I am still
rather concerned about her health
after that nasty fall she had in New
York over the 2oo7 Christmas season.
She's had an hip replacement with all
the pain that goes with such a fixture
and despite such a successful operation.
She's now back in Italy for the time be-
ing. She'll not, however, accompany me
this time to Cuba's Old Havana at the end
of the month. It was her birthday gift
to me that she then paid for my whole
Cubana trip without even a blink of an
eye. Thankz so much, Maria ... I pray
you'll get completely better day by day.

Such Stems From The Culture of Abandonment.

Above: Haut de la Garenne Children's Home. Below:
One of the good Cocker Spaniels sniffing out the long, dark
secrets of abuse and horror against Jersey children.
:: By Uncle Monty ::
When mere children are systematically housed
in underground torture chambers or "punishment
rooms" for the ghastly gratification and sexual
maladies of perverted hetrosexual and/or homo-
sexual adult authority figures or so-called "carers"
over such hapless youngsters, then such stems from
the culture of abandonment that permits the vile horror
of Haut de la Garenne Children's Home to thrive un-
checked and undetected against state committed
children for decades at a time at the Island of Jersey.
~~~
Due to the culture of abandonment, those in
authority who happen to be emotionally and sex-
ually perverted are given illicit entree to practice
their deformed lust and orgasms on children who
are oftentimes unloved and unwanted by their own
parents and families, if such first existed for them,
and by society at large. Once a child is
thrown to such predatory wolves in the name of
state care, then he or she is easily sentenced to a
kind of "soul murder" which was seemingly
practised day in and day out at the Jersey children's
home by the very "protectors" that did not protect
them, of course, but rather terrorized them at every
step in the secretive and macabre dungeons of official
child care. Thus from "protectors" some of them then
changed their moral colour and code to that of be-
coming sick predators and vicious perpetrators of
the defenceless and confined children in their care.
~~~
Whenever the culture of abandonment has taken
root, there is always the ever present danger
of exploitation and abuse of those subjected to
such abandonment. We see such in nursing homes,
in paramilitary groups, in closed prisons, in outlandish
religious sects, in youth boot camps, in childrens homes,
in psychiatric wards, in military brigs, and in other "total
institutions" that the American sociologist David
J. Rothman critiqued in the early 1970's and how
techniques of "behaviour modification" are applicable
to all total institutions. Certainly, Haut de la Garenne
Children's Home was a classic total institution that
practiced "behaviour modification" to its extremes
by physical, sexual, and mental abuse and tyranny
against vulnerable children placed in care of such
evil practices.
~~~
About 40 suspects and 160 victims have thus far
been identified surrounding the ever growing abuse
and sex scandal of Haut de la Garenne. I suspect
we shall hear stories of suicides from some of the
suspects once they are exposed and charged
with alleged betrayal of trust and care of those
children that they improperly handled against the
norms of decency and well-being. The tragedy
is the damage already done to so many victimized
Jersey children who can never be compensated by
the same system that allowed them to be committed
in the first place with no oversight or accountability
from those in charge of them. Who guards the
guards? It seemed that those who guarded the
guards were also willing to turn a blind eye or
were themselves participant abusers. Those
outside - such as the local police and church -
also turned a deliberate deaf ear to those who
attempted to report such demonic goings on at
Haut de la Garenne. The culture of abandonment
robs the voice, too, of those who are abandoned.
Thus, they were ignored when they came
forward as abandoned people who had no
voice of credibility to those set in authority
to uphold the law and to protect the weak
of the Jersey society.
I may just decide to go to Jersey myself to talk
with folkz there about the unfolding horrors
that may also have existed, so I understand, at
other children's homes and care institutions
besides the one called Haut de la Garenne. With
its Nazi past, I wouldn't be surprised now of other
dirty secrets and revelations that may tumble out
for us all to discover at the Island of Jersey.
~~~
In any event, what the story here tells us is that we
must abandon the culture of abandonment if we are
to protect and preserve the young and elderly from
those who, of whatever persuasion or perversion,
seek to excerise their own brand of abuse and
violence and stranglehold over them.

Anglican View on Contentious Religious Matters.

:: By Elle Moore ::
I appreciate that Americans are obsessed with the "American Secularism",
so what I am about to write here may be surprising to you Americans.
Although Britain is a very open and tolerant country, regarding religion,
we are still basically a Christian country and proud to be so identified.
Although religion does not play a direct part in the Governance of the
country, all our state ceremonies, rituals, crowning, conventions of Head
of State and the Church relationships, we are an anglican country,
a Christian nation, and proud of it. With that introduction, I would
like to give you Americans an insight into the role of the Church
in British Politics, which is not imminent in America as you are a
Secular Nation. As you know, the Islamization of European nations is
of great and serious concern for some (most) of us and it is express-
ed well in reading this article about the Bishop of Rochester, an
Anglican Bishop but of Pakistani origins. (Interesting origins, and
because of it he sees more clearly the true problems and unclothes
the dressings of political politeness and calls a spade a spade.)
I would like to highlight the Bishop of Rochester's bold stance
on his Anglican Beliefs:
The Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, who received death threats
for airing his views on Islamic issues, has vowed that he will
continue to speak out. His claim that Islamic extremism has
turned some parts of Britain into "no-go" areas for non-Muslims
led to fierce rows between political and religious leaders over the
impact of multiculturalism on this country. Threats were made
warning that he would not "live long" and would be "sorted out"
if he continued to criticise Islam. "If you disagree, that must be
met by counter-arguments, not by trying to silence people. It
was a threat not just to me, but to my family. I took it seriously,
so did the police. It gave me sleepless nights." However, it's
not the first time that his life has been endangered.
Shortly after being made a bishop in Pakistan - at 35 he was
the youngest in the Anglican Church - he was forced to flee to
Britain to seek refuge from Muslims who wanted to kill him.
He says that he never expected to suffer the same treatment in
Britain and expresses concerns over recent social developments.
"The real danger to Britain today is the spiritual and moral
vacuum that has occurred for the last 40 or 50 years. When
you have such a vacuum something will fill it. "If people are
not given a fresh way of understanding what it means to be a
Christian and what it means to be a Christian-based society
then something else may well take the place of all that we're
used to and that could be Islam." A highly-respected acad-
emic, he studied at Cambridge and Oxford - he speaks calmly
and with a measured deliberation. While the archbishop
received widespread support from within the Church,
Dr Nazir-Ali found himself isolated from his colleagues.
"I don't court popularity. If I say something it's because I
think it's important enough to say it. What I said was based
on evidence, and that has been strengthened as a result
of overwhelming correspondence." He wishes the Church
would be more vocal on issues of multiculturalism and
sharia law, but refuses to criticise his colleagues, although it
is clear he is baffled by their silence. "I can't guess why they
haven't talked on the issue. I'm not responsible for other
people's consciences." Is it due to cowardice?
"You'd have to ask them."
Finally I add: In quotes - "We all know that in virtually every
big city there are places where different kinds of people feel
uncomfortable. The Bishop of Rochester was right to raise this.
" Trevor Phillips, chairman of the Equality and Human Rights
Commission "I don't believe in multiculturalism. When people
come to this country they have to obey the laws of the land."
Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, the head of the (Roman)
Catholic Church in England and Wales "There's a place for finding
what would be a constructive accommodation with some aspects
of Muslim law." Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury
"In the name of multiculturalism, we have created
monocultural ghettoes." Ed Husain, author of The Islamist and
a former activist in the extremist Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir
[The above summary is to highlight how one Bishop is able
to express the anxieties of all Britons on issues that
have been swept under the carpet for Political Correctness.
It is time the Church of England spoke out for the Anglicans
of this country as well as for all loyal citizens of Britain.]

The lead caption photo of The Cross, I took inside
St. Andrew's Anglican Church at London's High
Holborn. And while there, I also encountered the
three bishops shown here from left to right:
His Excellency, Most Rev'd Bernard
Longley, Catholic Auxiliary Bishop of
Westminster; His Grace, Right Rev'd
Christopher Chessun, Anglican Bishop of
Woolwich, and His Eminence, Bishop Basil
of the Russian Orthodox Church.
It was a golden opportunity for me to photo-
graph the three bishops of three faiths together
and to meet once again Bishops Longley and
Chessun from other personal encounteres with
them elsewhere. And to also meet for the first
time Bishop Basil, who is one of many other
Orthodox Patriarchs and Archbishops that
I have encountered and photographed in
different parts of the world over the past
30 years ... We were all at St. Andrew's for
the Centenary Celebrations of Christian
Unity Week (CCCUW).

Leaving Homeless In Unfit Housing Is Unlawful.

:: Court of Appeal ::
Published February 27, 2oo8. Regina
(Aweys and Others) v Birmingham City Council.
Before Lord Justice Ward, Lady Justice Arden,
and Lady Justice Smith
Judgment February 7, 2oo8.
<>
A housing authority acted unlawfully
when persons unintentionally homeless
and in priority need, but unsuitably
accommodated rather than on the
streets, were left in the same accommo-
dation pending permanent re-housing.
<>
The Court of Appeal so stated when dis-
missing the appeal by Birmingham City
Council from declarations by Mr. Justice
Collins, ([2007] EWHC 52 (Adim)) that:
(i) the housing authority was in breach
of its duty to secure suitable accommo-
dation for claimants, Abdishakur Aweys,
Abdiladif Mohammed Ali, Amina Abdulle,
Muhidin Adam, Nimo Sharif, and Helena
Omar, and (ii) its allocations policy
was unlawful.
<>
Mr. Jan Luba, QC and Mr. Zia Nabi
for the claimants; Mr. Ashley Under-
Wood, QC and Ms. Catherine Rowlands
for the council.
<>
LORD JUSTICE WARD said that the
housing authority decided to leave
at home those who might be called
"homeless at home," not the "street
homeless," until something better
turned up, and its allocations
policy gave preference to the street
homeless. The appeal concerned the
main duty to homeless people with
priority need, eligible for assist-
ance, and who were not homeless
intentionally, governed by section
193 of the Housing Act 1996.
Where the claimants' families were
found homeless because they lived
in overcrowded accommodation was
suitable for their occupation.
Asking whether that duty, under
section 193(2), was discharged by
leaving a homeless family in its
current premises which would not
be reasonable for it to occupy,
the answer was "No." The words
in section 193(3) replicated the
words in section 175(1) and
"accommodation available for
occupation" had to bear the same
meaning in both sections.
Thus if the premises were not
"accommodation" for section 175(3)
purposes, in determining whether
the claimants were homeless, they
could not be "accommodation" for
section 193(2) purposes for discharg-
ing the obligation there imposed.
The housing authority was there-
fore in breach of its main duty if it
did no more than leave a homeless
family at home.
<>
Turning to the allocations scheme:
those homeless at home ought to have
been placed in temporary accommodation,
just as the street homeless had been;
and there was no justification for
having the homeless in different
bands, as had been the case.
<>
Lady Justice Arden gave a judgment
concurring in the result and Lady
Justice Smith agreed with both.
